    July’s Book Review

July 27, 2020 / Comments Off on July’s Book Review

Jen Hatmaker’s Fierce, Free, and Full of Fire does not disappoint! I’ll be real, I kept hearing about how wonderful this Jen Hatmaker person is. I was a bit skeptical in selecting her book for the month of July, but with so much hype, why not read it and form my own opinion. This book is about being brave and honestly yourself and claiming your own gifts, quirks, and emotions. In this book, Jen breaks it down into five self-reflective categories–who I am, what I need, what I want, what I believe, and how I connect. Self-reflection is good, but also can be confusing and laughable. For example, while reading…

    Keep the Bugs Away

    July 16, 2020 / 1 Comment

It’s summer and that means one problem we all have, mosquitos! I think my blood is full of sugar, they flock to me. I just want to keep the bugs away! I use the “green lotion”. What in the world is that, a magical lotion that seriously keeps mosquitoes away! Johnson’s creamy aloe and vitamin E. That’s the stuff! Get it, use it on yourself and your family. It does not disappoint. The end

    Walmart delivery for the win!

    July 5, 2020 / 2 Comments

It was Sunday morning after 4th of July and I was exhausted from staying up late shooting off fireworks with the kids. After rolling out of bed, making a bottle for my screaming baby and throwing a pop tart in for breakfast, I had to tend to a work call on the weekend. The doorbell rings, my dog starts barking, and all I think is a big UGH. I open my front door to not a person, but groceries. Delivered to my door from an angel! Well, I had forgotten that I decided to try Walmart grocery delivery because the pick up spots were at inconvenient times. Can I just…

    June’s Book Review

June 28, 2020 / Comments Off on June’s Book Review

The Art of Making Memories- Meik Wiking This book is written by the CEO of the Happiness Research Institute in Copenhagen. He has been described as “the world’s happiest man” and “the Indiana Jones of Smiles” I was intrigued to learn more about how to create and use these memories to boost my happiness as well as the happiness of my family. This book was quirky, full of fun pictures, an easy read, made me laugh and made me really think. I loved Meik’s take on the “good life”. He calls it a life of both purpose and pleasure and says “It (the good life) is when life offers satisfaction…
